Tempus Vernum

 Tulip.

Happy First Day of Spring, or Ostara if you wish. ;) I celebrated by getting up before dawn and camping outside for about an hour to get some pretty sunrise shots. The deciding factor to come back inside was the fact that my hands were turning red from the cold. Even though it is forecasted to get into the low 60's today, it was in the 30's when I went outside this morning.

First animals I saw this morning was a pair of geese flying overhead. Some follow the line of thinking that the first animals you see on special days (generally holidays and birthdays) carry meaning for the next part of your life. The goose is typically seen as a symbol of communication and writing (think back to when we used feathers for writing) as well as setting out on new quests and traveling (especially now, as the geese are migrating). It is important to note that I saw two geese this morning and not a flock, which suggests something more about a partnership instead of a familial gathering. Now, this kind of observation and interpretation isn't something that I would bet money on, but it's fun and interesting so I do it. :)

I have a series of pictures I plan to post in the coming days, but here is one of my favorites from this morning.

Dragon Tea

Quick post to just say that I have been looking for a well-made, long lasting tea pot for myself and I came across this awesomeness:

I *should* write more of my bat story today or tomorrow. Finished up a major paper last night (due today!) and it will pretty much be smooth sailing for the rest of the week. And next week is spring break! :D
