Tuesday's Top Pick

This week's pick is extra special. It's not just one pick, but many little picks! Is this necessary, you ask? But of course. These things are like potato chips, you can never have just one.

So we begin with Pick #1: the NFL Preseason

The start of the NFL preseason is 67 days away, or a little over two months. I sate my excitement of seeing what the Carolina Panthers will do this season by visiting NFL.com and reading articles that talk about how awesomely amazing Cam Newton is (such as this one). I think if Cam can stay calm/out of his head and not get happy feet we'll be in good shape. Add a healthy Beason back into the mix and we're great.

Proceeding on to Pick #2: Weather.com's Hurricane Central

June 1st is right around the corner! And that means Hurricane season. So really Pick #2 should really have an asterisk after it and an explanation at the bottom of the page saying "and also the other 10 weather related sites Sara visits on a daily basis." June 1st is always when I start anticipating hurricanes and tropical storms to come our way and give us some (usually) much need rain. So far we've had two this year, which is incredible. Alberto and Beryl make up the first time in over a decade that we've had two named tropical systems before June 1st. And not only that but Beryl is the 1st tropical storm to make landfall in the U.S. in May since Arlene in 1959. If you want to follow the hurricanes and other tropical systems all summer like I do, you can here.

And finally, we come to Pick #3: Wantist

Hopefully, many of you will find Wantist more up your alley if you aren't a football fanatic or a weather geek like yours truly. Wantist is a blog of creative and unique gifts, as well as tips on how to wrap them and really nifty DIY ideas. Examples of the cuteness you will find are a DIY popsicle memory game, printable gift tags, handmade planters and cupcakes that look like plants. You can find all of these and more here.

Wedding Planner Journal

A new journal I made today. I can't contain my excitement over this one - I've had the idea/picture in my head for a few months now and the final result was just perfect.

Tuesday's Top Pick

This week's pick is a simple list of things you should give up to be happy, which I thought was an interesting turn of phrase and that all of the items on the list were very apt.

Some of the items include: give up your need to control and give up on labels. My favorite is give up your need to impress others.

You can read the entire list here.

Tuesday's Top Pick

Bringing the bedroom outdoors.
This week's pick is a lovely article over at babble featuring different ways to bring summer into your home. Lots of color, adding new accessories and my personal favorite... creating a sleeping area in a covered porch or patio area.

Even though my current house does not have the covered porch that I dream about, this article got me thinking of different ways to bring a sleeping area to the outdoors. And what do you know, other people have the same idea!

-Great list of places to get hanging porch beds as well as pictures

-Another picture list of outdoor canopy beds

-I never should have searched this on pinterest, now I can't stop

Tuesday's Top Pick

I have painted many a mural in my life, but this tops anything I've ever seen. And by seen I mean in person, in a book or on the internet.

Looks like wallpaper - but it's not!

Ava Roth hand painted her entire dining rooms walls to look like wallpaper at first glance, but as you look closer the walls are really just an outstanding work of free hand that seamlessly connects and flows. You can see more images here.

Quick note

Just a quick note to say that I have LOTS of new stuff coming and new posts are writing themselves in my head! Been a little under the weather this week and lots of cool, exciting things going on at work where I get to put my OCD-planner self into action so just hold tight and posts will be back on schedule! Yay for run on sentences! ;)
