Morning Light

A couple of weeks ago early in the morning (read: 6am) light was streaming perfectly through the window in the upstairs hallway where the cats were lounging. I snapped a few pics before work and really tried to play with the light and I'm pretty happy with how things turned out. Best part? I think I captured each cat's personality perfectly. What do you think?

Face time

I thought Kitty needed some face time on here instead of the usual Bandit or Biscuit - but don't worry, I'm sure they'll make appearances soon enough. ;)

Colors of the Wind

Biscuit

Okay, so maybe it's not the wind. But it is a pretty, colorful blanket that Ms. Biscuit is lounging on.

Catawba Says Thanks

A few weeks ago I spent a day at Second Chance taking pictures of Catawba for a 'Thank You' promotion we had planned for all the Second Chance volunteers and supporters. Here are a few of my favorite shots from that day.

Catawba Cat Heart

Mr. Catawba in a Promotional Shot

I know I haven't been posting on here as much lately and for that I apologize. I have been busy volunteering with Second Chance Pet Adoptions (go visit them here) in attempts to improve my resume and land a "real" job.

Anywho, that handsome fella you see up above is Catawba, Second Chance's resident center cat. He has been with Second Chance for what seems like forever and he is a really cool cat... except for the fact that he doesn't like other animals, including cats, or children or even people, some days. He sometimes has a bit of anxiety issues and can very well have moments where you are petting him and then you find out that he really wanted you to stop petting him by way of teeth or claws. But other than that, he's pretty awesome.

But I've been good. Really good. And by that I mean I haven't flooded my blog with the roughly 300 Second Chance animal pictures I have taken in the past two months. ;)

And I promise, more print-worthy, non-animal pictures are on their way!

Box Cat

Biscuit in her box.

So in my office/craft room I have a cubby type shelving system, as you can see above. Some of the cubbies hold brightly colored fabric boxes for storage, while others hold books or other self containing items. Not long after moving this into my room, Biscuit made her claim by grabbing the green box with her claws, pulling it out of the cubby hole and onto the floor where she then proceeded to remove everything in the box so she could lay in it.

At first I would find her doing this, shake my head and put the box and all it's belongings back into place. But she kept doing it. So it became her box. The box now stays empty and Biscuit will jump on the ledge above the box, pull the box slightly out of the cubby and then squeeze herself into the box, just like you see above. Some days I walk into my room and I hear Biscuit chirping but I can't find her.

It's because she is in her box (see picture below).

Little cat

Little cat knocking,
Meowing impatiently,
Quiet, let me sleep.
