I was told many moons ago that once I started working at Second Chance, my work wardrobe would suffer a slow and painful death. My carefully planned outfits with coordinating accessories would slowly fade into tattered jeans and threadbare t-shirts. I mentally sword that it would never happen to me, that since a part of my job was dealing with the public and asking for money, I would always strive to look my best. Yeah. That lasted maybe a couple of months.

But now I've stumbled across an amazing site for a visual person like me. It allows me to quickly and easily see how articles of clothing and accessories go together for a beautiful, polished finished look. This is an idea for work clothing that I just quickly created on Polyvore.

A Book of One's Own

Since we are a week into April, I thought now would be a good time to mention that I've decided to participate in Camp NaNoWriMo this month. I'm attempting to use it to jump start a story that I started writing two years ago. I've set my goal to be 30,000 words by the end of this month. So far I'm terribly behind, with photoshoots and editing taking up most of my not-at-"real"-work-time. But I'm hoping this upcoming weekend I can have a marathon writing session and get back on track. This weekend was pretty much written off (pun intended!) due to some weird back and lung issues all happening at the same time. Hair Accessories

  Sorry, but I can't say "hair accessories" without that song popping into my head. They sound too much alike. ;)   On to the reason for this post!   I've started creating hair accessories (barrettes, hairbands) with victorian influences and wanted to share them with you (you can click on the pictures to link to their Etsy homes).

Sugar Cookie Truffles

I will apologize now for the sub-par photos. Normally when I'm cooking/baking something I think I'll be posting, I take lots of photos. This time I didn't. I may or may not have been too busy eating the truffles. But basically you take your choice of sugar cookie (I chose Frosted Animal Cookies), mix with cream cheese, form into balls and refrigerate to harden. Then cover with candy melts and sprinkles. And then try not to eat them all at once. ;)
